"What are three words that come to mind when you think of Boston Rotaract?"

We did it! Boston Rotaract surpassed its fundraising goal, successfully raising $4,000 for this Rotary year's* international service project. The money will fund around 700 pairs of eyeglasses for elementary school children in the Caloocan area of Metro Manila, the Philippines.
This project is in collaboration with the Sampaguita Grace Park Rotary Club + three local Rotaract clubs in Caloocan: Rotaract Club of the University of Caloocan City, Rotaract Club University of the East-Caloocan, and Rotaract Club of Millennial - Sampaguita Grace Park (all in D3800). Coincidentally enough, they last executed a similar project in 2014 in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Hyannis.
Rotaract’s $4,000+ donation will cover the cost of eye refraction exams and the eyeglasses. The Sampaguita Grace Park Rotary Club will organize the logistics of the project, as well as cover the cost of doctors who perform the exams, in addition to meals for volunteers and medical staff. The Rotaract clubs will assist in executing this project, ordering and distributing the prescription-specific eyeglasses.
*The project was originally slated for this spring, but has been rescheduled due to COVID-19. It is now set for November/December 2020.
We are so excited to provide eyeglasses to children in need and are incredibly grateful to have partners on the ground to help us execute this project!
